OOC organization and directory: Transport Clinic
THIS POST is now the clearinghouse for Exsilium clinic-related stuff. Formerly it was housed elsewhere.
Add your character to the clinic staff. (how this works)
Page a random clinician to your thread or plot. (how this works) | (track the paging thread)
The clinic will have its directory OOCly maintained right here and ICly added to the network, so if someone would ICly want a specific doctor, they can contact that doctor directly (by IC contact post or, if the doc-mun's amenable, by handwaving). No need to fuss with paging someone random, in that case.

Miscellaneous Staff (students, clerical, etc)
notes
what is this clinic?
A note on medical treatment in Exsilium: There is, and always has been, an Initiative-run hospital. The transports started their own clinic early on, due to distrust of the Initiative. (The clinic was founded by Watson and Septim, and later inherited by Anders. Anders then left it to Adrasteius and Bones.) However, the resources in the transport clinic are themselves supplied by the Initiative, and low-ranking Initiative medics have been necessary to train the staff in use of the equipment, etc.
In other words, when you go to the transport-run clinic, you're still not completely free of Initiative technology. What you are doing is getting care that doesn't involve Initiative scientists knocking you out and running mysterious diagnostics on you without your consent.
explanation 1: about ADDING TO STAFF
If your character has any kind of medical experience or ability, Adra et al won't turn them away. We don't have to know you personally; you can be a brand-new player; your character can be from an advanced starfaring civilization or an apprentice midwife from the Clan of the Cave Bear.
If your character has no actual background in medicine and wants to learn, we'll will put them to work cleaning bedpans and assisting with things.
In short, we'll take anyone, EXCEPT THIS: If your character is randomly crazy and signs up for entertainment purposes, their offer of help would be declined. While it might be hilarious to have Spongebob Squarepants bumbling around a clinic, Adra is extraordinarily cranky and would not ICly allow that. HEALING IS SERIOUS BUSINESS. That's about the only scenario in which someone will be turned down.
The mods had established a while back that anyone working in the clinic does get a small additional stipend to their ordinary Initiative pay. There is that small incentive, for those characters who need one.
explanation 2: about PAGING A CLINICIAN
In my opinion, in-game businesses and institutions exist primarily to foster CR. I'd like to make that as easy as possible. I've seen games where people sort of lag while waiting for the doctor-muns to sort out who's taking the thread, and I've been in a horror game where there were only a couple of doctors and the muns didn't get much of a chance to RP anything but healing people.
It can be a pain in the ass to arrange some kind of medical intervention in a thread when you actually don't care what character is involved, you just need someone. It can also be OOCly uncomfortable to ask a specific player you don't know to jump into your thread, since you have no way of knowing whether they feel like playing Florence Nightingale that particular moment.
Therefore, we have made this thread for paging any Transport Clinic staff, and whatever mun is up to thread at the time they're paged can say they're the clinic staffer on call. ICly, whoever's on call will have received the call and has that IC reason to respond.
OOCly, the players who have a character on clinic staff can have notifications of On Call thread comments emailed to them by tracking this post -- or just tracking the paging thread, if you've got a paid account. If you don't want to do that, you're not obliged to track the post, of course.

Add your character to the clinic staff
Ibin Cenna
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Been studying and then properly practicing medicine in a small clinic in the West Blue for about 15 years. He has approximately the medical knowledge of a GP from 1950s America, and specializes in trauma and rapid response.
Involvement in transport clinic: He'll be most useful to you in the ER, but will be happy to do pretty much anything that needs doing. Ibin is a strict pacifist, and is serious about his calling to medicine. But he's also going to throw himself into this in the hopes that it keeps him from being called to fight. He'll be here just about every day if you let him.
Cheria Barnes
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: She's the main healer in the game, and ran a relief organization to assist people wounded in battle.
Involvement in transport clinic: Either working shifts or on call! She has a lot of high level healing spells plus resurrection, so she can treat serious injuries. She will honestly do anything she's asked to do if it's for helping people!
Ashraf "slap this man back up on there" Salib
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: HE'S A HEALER IT'S WHAT HE DOES IT'S ALL HE CAN DO. Can help with everything from papercuts to brink-of-death, can regenerate recently lost limbs, can't heal old, scarred-over wounds, can resurrect the recently dead (if they've died of violent causes), can't cure diseases but can help with the symptoms.
Involvement in transport clinic: He backed quickly away from running it upon rebirth, and just helps out now. :'|
Med'an
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Paladin and Shaman powers A.K.A. nature magic heals and holy magic heals. Has lots of buffs that he can put on people, and can rez the very recently dead (?). Also cures curses, poisons, diseases (?), and magic debuffs.
Involvement in transport clinic: HE'LL DO WHATEVER he doesn't have much else going on so if you want him at the clinic that's cool and if it's just on call that's cool too.
Donny Casey
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Volunteers at a clinic and women's shelter. He has no certified medical training, but he has put in a lot of hours over the last ten months and can do quite a lot of basics (sutures included) and often does cleaning stuff too.
Involvement in transport clinic: Whatever they'd be happy to let him do! Starting with more cleaning equipment and prepping patients to go to the people with more skills, and gradually letting him do more stuff with stitching people up? It'd be super cool if he could learn some more practical skills from the other clinic staff, too, since he's not magically gifted for healing. Shyest boy ever, though, so he'll be mostly silent. Very observant, good learner, gentle with patients, but as silent as possible. Don't make him answer phones, anything else he is happy to do.

IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Anduin is shaping up to be quite the priestly healer and has a heavy interest in helping people. He can shield people from damage and heal wounds ranging from minor to the more serious - in one case he's managed to resurrect the very-recently deceased.
Involvement in transport clinic: Anything that Anduin doesn't know, he's willing to learn and learn quickly. As such he'd be happiest wherever he can be useful.

IC Contact Here!
Medical involvement in canon : He's an experienced doctor in canon. He's an experienced trauma surgeon as well, capable of doing regular old boring surgeries along with using his 'Room' ability to haxx cure as well. He can extract poison and toxicities from a person's body with his ability.
Involvement in transport clinic : He can do primary care, diagnostics, imaging and surgery. Mostly surgery, though.
Kirian Dawningsun
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Not much aside from general field first aid training before the Second War. Which is why he's not here to help as a doctor!
Involvement in transport clinic: Kirian Dawningsun and the Amazing Administrative Adventures. Give him a little desk and bury him under paperwork he will work until the wee hours of the morning.
Joan Watson
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Joan used to be a surgeon/doctor up until several years ago when she malpractice and decided against renewing her license. She's still very knowledge about all things modern medicine, as well as having a little bit of knowledge concerning traditional Chinese medicine.
Involvement in transport clinic: She's very hesitant about returning to the medical field, but she would never deny anyone medical help if they need it. While here, she knows it's something that may be able to help keep her busy so in that respect she'd be more open to being involved. That being said, she's probably going to be on an on-call basis. If they need an extra hand with anything, Joan will be there!
no subject
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: She knows basic first aid and a bit more from her previous game, but she's no expert surgeon or anything.
Involvement in transport clinic: Prooobably mostly cleaning and various minor responsibilities because of her lack of experience/age (she's 16), but she could help with small injuries until she learns more! Whatever needs done that's not tending to the seriously ill or hurt, basically.
Tempest
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Trained as a healer in her youth, but magical and physical. Nature-based heals.
Involvement in transport clinic: Probably best for emergencies or on call, though she'd probably hang around the clinic anyway in case someone needed her for an extra set of hands.
Ayano Tateyama
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Nope.
Involvement in transport clinic: Healing scarf! Will play nurse if needed.
I swear to God I had posted this already.Flora
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: Not much to do with people. It's very clear that she can't heal others directly under her own power, though she does seem to have access to and knowledge of plants with special regenerative properties. (She made strength-giving tea for someone, once)
Involvement in transport clinic: Anything they want to have her do! She can conjure supplies and do runs via flight/teleporting. If any clinicians need to get somewhere in a hurry, she can teleport them anywhere. She can clean, she can cook (and has access to fresh, non-mutated produce, yay!), she can organise. Also very friendly and polite, intelligent and willing to learn anything. As long as it means helping people, she'll do it.
Jude Mathis
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: He's a medical student close to graduation with video game style healing abilities.
Involvement in transport clinic: Primarily non-emergency cases. Diagnostics, checkups, treatment of minor to midrange injuries and illnesses. However, in a pinch he can help out with critical cases as well. Can work shifts in the clinic or on call.
Elika
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: 'Her' magic from canon is problematic because it's a lot less "let me heal your flesh wound" and more "let me save you from certain death as you fall into the chasm you stupidly thought you could jump across". so in actuality, none.
Involvement in transport clinic: her healing is different from how it functioned in canon and is more direct and typical, plus as royalty she's very used to organizing things and keeping records. (not that she's telling anyone she's a princess whoops)
Bariyan Kozar
IC contact post
Medical involvement in canon: hE'S A PALADIN HE'S GOT HEALY GLOWY THINGS HE LEARNED IT AT PALLY SCHOOL THEY MADE HIM LEARN IT. But his healing is, in general, basic and fairly weak, as it's not his area of expertise. He's good at healing cuts and soothing/numbing pain, but that's about it.
Involvement in transport clinic: He'll gladly be on call for anything he can help with! He also will probably just hang around the clinic being a cheerful obnoxious asshole when he's got nothing better to do.

Any other notes: Basically, I'm looking for someone who wants to start treatment of a dour man who has been self-medicating for years and has a history of addiction. Totally up to you if IC-ly you wanna drop him like a bad habit after one visit (actually, him being bounced between people would be hilarious but that's just me).

Characters in the thread Peeta Mellark
Nature of injury Checking up on his prosthetic leg! He fell on it at the party and there's bruising, but he wants to make sure his leg is still intact.
In clinic, or calling clinician to emergency location?: In clinic
Link to thread in progress: n/a
Any other notes: I'd like this to happen some time after the rescue, if possible. I AM totally flexible about this, I just thought this would be a way to snag some cr. I don't want anything to be seriously wrong, and I need to check the timeline, but I think his leg should be good for at least another year.

Miscellaneous ooc questions and chatter

Hi! There's a group of Transports planning a trip into the wastelands to get to UE territory and I was wondering, would it be possible to hit up the clinic for some medical supplies? They don't want to go directly to the Initiative for them and anything from the markets obviously won't be as top-notch.

Joan is new to Exsilium and is coming in right at the virus plot. She has 12+ years of medical experience but for various reasons hasn't renewed her medical license and has moved on from that part of her life - but with something as big as this, I feel like she'd try to be as hands on as possible to try and investigate/help out. Would she be able to get in touch with someone to go about getting involved and doing that? It could be a nice segway into her possibly volunteering from time to time.

Sorry this is so late, btw. I wasn't getting notifs for the account (but that is fixed now)!
